Per-agent seats - $19/agent/mo (Support only, no AI agents) up to $55-115/agent/mo (Suite Team/Professional, billed annually)
AI / automated-resolution fee
AI Agents are billed per "automated resolution", but Zendesk does not disclose the rate on its pricing page - you have to talk to sales to find out what a busy month costs. Reported customer rates commonly land around $1.20-$2.00 per automated resolution.
What Zendesk does well
Credit where it's due - this isn't a tool without a reason to exist.

Where it falls short for POD
Zendesk is built for teams with dedicated support staff, not a solo POD seller answering email between print runs - and it won't tell you your per-resolution rate until you're already a customer trying to read the invoice.
A worked month
Assumption you can change: a 300-ticket month where about half (150) get an AI-drafted resolution and the rest need a human touch - a typical mix for a small POD store. Change the split and the totals below move with it; the shape of the comparison does not.
Zendesk does not publish the per-resolution rate, so this line is an estimate from reported customer figures, not a quote.
What Podley is, and isn't
Podley only does one thing: print-on-demand customer service, from your Gmail, checking the live order in Shopify and Printify before it drafts a word, in your own voice - and it never touches money without your say. It doesn't run a live chat widget, Instagram DMs, or phone support. If you need a full multi-channel helpdesk for a support team, one of the tools above is probably the right call.
